Supporting teams in Tanzania

Our Head of School Support Polly Griffith is leaving to work out in one of our in-country hubs in Tanzania on Saturday, 17th July. She will be out there until 20th August in Moshi at the base of the Kilimanjaro National Park.
Her responsibility is to provide an operational and safety service enhancement, based locally and she is hoping to provide a significant boost to our ability to project in-country customer service.

Hi Everyone,

Been in Moshi, Tanzania for two whole weeks now. The time has flown! All teams are now in Country with one leaving tomorrow after a great month in Tanzania. Kilimanjaro, Meru, Ngorogoro, Usuambaras Mountains and just about time to squeeze in some R and R on the coast. What an amazing expedition destination!
I have settled nicely in Moshi town. The Kindoroko hotel now feels like home with very friendly staff looking after me. The locals are all very friendly and have found some favourite places to go an relax. The Tanzanian Coffee lounge is a stones throw from my hotel so very easy to pop in for a coffee before heading up to the Arusha road where the Ahsante offices are. I have been to a couple of the surrounding villages in the Kilimanjaro district, Marangu and Machame. The people are so welcoming with only a few yelps of Mazungu!!! I have picked up more than a handful of the common Swahili words so have lots of fun chatting away. Trying to learn a couple of new words each day. I have seen 3 weddings and been to one funeral, hopefully there is another wedding in there and not another funeral. The way of life here in Moshi is poley poley he he he he. Very chilled out and everything works in the end.
I am hoping to climb Kilimanjaro on Wednesday, EEEK! The Marangu route in 5 days(coca cola route) with one of our teams. Please cross fingers for me that I will make it to the top :). All in all things going very smoothly. Teams, generally very happy with things and lots of experiences and memories being built. Ops room back home are brilliant!! Great to experience it first hand in country. Good job everyone! See you soon, Polly xxx
